THREAD ON ARSENAL VS PALACE GAME AND WHAT IT MEANS FOR ARSENAL ASSETS GOING FORWARD Any Likes or RTs would be greatly appreciated 😁

⁃If Arsenal can continue how they played for the first 25 minutes through the whole 90 they could rack up serious points this season. ⁃Jesus looked incredibly sharp early on but blanked but I’d hold. He showed enough to suggest he’ll be a great FPL asset.

- I noticed Jesus prefers to link up with the left hand side, so his interchangeability with Zinchenko and Martinelli was very clean. However, he didn’t link up with Saka as smoothly with them getting in each other’s way - I expect it to improve as they play together more.

⁃As GabbyJ’s aggression waned towards the end, it was a great decision to bring on Nketiah who made the difference. ⁃Eddie and Saka clearly have a great connection, and the way Nketiah broke up play and opened his body to Saka on the right for the second goal felt so natural.

⁃My instincts tell me for FPL, Saka is a better option with Nketiah on the pitch but his relationship with Jesus should improve. ⁃Defensively, Saliba impressed everyone as expected and he was a monster for the BPS, as was Zinchenko.

-This slightly dents Ramsdale’s appeal who was a BPS magnet last season, but bodes well for clean sheets in the long run and I think Arsenal will provide value in defence.

-The main concern in defence is xMins once Tomiyasu and Tierney are back. Tomiyasu and Tierney are still our first choice full backs imo but if Saliba continues to impress, it’d be incredibly hard for Mikel to drop him.

-One of Gabriel, White and Saliba will have to be on the bench. This is a testament to the depth Arteta is building at the club. Might start to experience Pep-like rotation when UEL kicks in.

⁃My instinct is long term Gabriel won’t be 1st choice - not that he’s bad, but he’s not clean or technically secure in build up. Gets the job done but not easy on the eye. He’s our only naturally left footed CB, but struggles more with front footed defending than BW + WS.

⁃Gabriel’s still an absolute weapon on set pieces, and Nicholas Jover has been a revelation since last season with his innovative set piece routines - expect many more goals for us from corners!

⁃Finally, Ødegaard struggled yesterday. He became incredibly passive as the aggression of the press waned and lacked incisiveness. He always seems to struggle against Palace so maybe it’s a structural thing, but I expect him to bounce back at home against weaker opposition.

⁃I don’t think Ø’s really a viable FPL asset, because I’m half expecting him to drop in next to Partey once Fabio Vieira resumes full fitness as Odegaard can give us more security and agility to feed through the lines, whilst Vieira will offer killer balls and extra output.
