The Preview: GW31 - A thread Greetings everyone, welcome to my latest preview thread where I cover double GW31 at length: #FPL #FPLCommunity @OfficialFPL Feel free to like and share if you find it to be helpful ❤️

Fantasy5's latest round is live! £20,000 has already been handed out this past month and the targets this week are well within reach again! Play for free and be among the lucky ones: 👇🏻 #ad

Q: Is Jimenez to Weghorst a transfer worth making? It's almost as if you’re removing a more expensive version of Weghorst (aka Jimenez) for a cheaper version having freed up £1m in the process. I don't have high hopes from Weghorst at all and it's a move I think you should...

... make simply because of the number of fixtures that Weghorst has coming up. Burnley have a double in GW31 and 33 potentially followed by another in GW34 or 35. In between these fixtures is a favorable fixture against Norwich as well. Let's be real - Weghorst's stats are...

... very poor but Burnley have it all to play for and with the lack of appealing forwards available at the moment, Weghorst is a risk-free player to own just for the appearance points alone. Everton are yet to keep a clean sheet away from home since GW3 and under Lampard...

...have shipped 14 goals in four away games so far so I'm hoping against hope that Weghorst will deliver against an obliging Everton defence. Burnley will have an extra day of rest too which should help. There’s also the fact that if you’re undecided when to Free Hit, buying...

... Weghorst gives you more flexibility as it sets you up for GW33 too.

Q: What to do with Trent Alexander Arnold? xGi per 90 this season Trent 0.5 James 0.4 Cancelo 0.29 Chilwell 0.27 Robertson 0.25 If you don't have a Wildcard, Trent is a hold regardless of whether or not he plays v Watford. Yes, the other defenders are good but...

... Trent is on a different level. He is not worth selling and buying back later. If we get any early team news that he is not playing tomorrow, I would only sell if I had a wildcard in hand.

Q: What is the best time to wildcard? Even though theoretically wildcarding now will give you more time to benefit from it, I would Wildcard in GW34 if given the choice: *It’s easy to set up for 31 + 33 with a template team given how fixtures have panned out – no great need...

... to Wildcard at the moment *Wildcarding in 34 allows you to get on Man City, Villa, Leicester, Palace and to focus transfers on players from teams with something to play for. More upside to Wildcarding then *Wildcarding in 34 means that you can easily sell...

... your Burnley, Newcastle and Man United assets *For those FPL managers with a Bench Boost intact, a Wildcard in 34 would set you up for the big double in 36 *If Chelsea go out vs Real Madrid in the Champions League, Chelsea will have a greater possibility of doubling in...

... 35 than 37 hence wildcarding in 34 could help you to attack double GW35 by loading up on Chelsea.

Q: When is the best time to Free Hit? Since this whole debate is very team dependent and without looking at your team, it’s very hard to me to suggest which strategy is likely to fit your team the best, I will run you through the arguments of FH'ing in each of the double GWs:

Arguments to Free Hit in 33: *A lot of FPL managers have triple Spurs and Liverpool. Both teams are likely to double in 36 instead *Chelsea, Leicester, Everton + Villa are four teams all likely to double in 36 and 37 which makes those GWs easier to plan for and navigate at once

*If you have quite a few Leeds, Villa, Wolves players in your squads this strategy is likely to be more profitable since all of those teams are likely to blank in 33. For example, if you own Coutinho, you can keep him from now for his run from GW34 to 37 despite his blank in 33

*You can buy Ronaldo and Fernandes easily on a Free Hit for 33 – two players you would not want necessarily for the long run. This is for me one of the biggest upsides for Free Hitting in that week since you wouldn’t spend transfers bringing them in and taking them out later

*Free Hitting here allows you to spend your transfers on Chelsea and City rather than focus on Burnley, Newcastle, Leicester and Man United assets *FH in 36 gives you one less transfer and you would want to retain the core of your FH36 into 37.

Arguments to Free Hit in 36/37: *Popular assets like triple Arsenal, Dubravka, Weghorst and Broja already have a double in 33 so most teams are already well set *Kane to Ronaldo is another move you could make at a similar price point before Ronaldo’s double in 33

*Most managers have Salah, Trent and Robertson who are perfectly playable in their fixture against MUN at home in 33 and have the capability to haul big in any fixture. You would back them over players from Newcastle/Leicester etc even if they have a double

*Similarly, Spurs have Brighton at home in 33 *GW36 is two days after the UCL semi and before the FA cup final. There is a lot of upside on FH36 if you nail the correct players who can start both fixtures *Spurs have poor fixtures (liv, ARS) in double GW36 but good fixtures...

... around it so you can FH your Spurs players out *We should probably get the full schedule of how the fixtures are likely to fall before 34 or 35 *We will know which teams will have something to play for and which will be on the beach

*If Liverpool beat Man City in the FA cup semi, then City and Wolves will double in 37. A City double in 37 could make Free Hit big

Q: Keep or sell Ramsdale? Ramsdale is worth holding in my opinion. He’s expected to be back within a week so I don’t think he is worth a transfer at this point in time. He is averaging nearly five FPL points per game and has already kept 12 clean sheets this season with...

... 10 games in hand (including two double GWs to come). His ability to accumulate save points while playing for a solid defence allows him to haul big sets him apart from his counterparts. Arsenal don't have any cup or European commitments either so can concentrate fully on...

... the league. I still think he has a role to play in our season.

Q: Any Everton assets worth considering? The only Everton player who is worth considering in my opinion is Anthony Gordon. He stands out as the budget enabler to own with three double GWs to play till the end of the season. Since Lampard has taken over, he is ranked best...

... among all Everton players for shots and xGi as well. The good thing about him is that he’s cheap so he’s not under much pressure to deliver. Everton have been really poor away from home under Lampard and even across the season have been ranked 16th for xG in away games...

... which doesn’t fill me with any kind of confidence as we head into double GW31.

Q: What to do with Broja? Broja has been testing our patience in recent times but I think it’s worth giving him another go against a poor Leeds defence - he is expected to start according to the...

... Saints forums/journalists so if he can deliver it would set you up nicely for his upcoming double in Gameweek 33 as well.

Q: What to do with Wolves and Villa defenders? I’d look to take money out of midfield and upgrade a Wolves defender if I had one. Whether or not you have a WC in hand, it makes sense to upgrade a Wolves defender to a premium asset now as Wolves have a blank in 33 with...

... poor fixtures against City and Liverpool even when they double in GW36. I’d sell Digne if I had a Wildcard in hand but in case you don’t, then there is a case to keep him as well due to the fact that Villa...

... could possibly double in both 34 and 36 with a home fixture against Norwich in 35 sandwiched in between.

Here is my Fantasy5 team! I’ve picked Rice as he needs a penalty to beat his predicted target which seems realistic. Kane is first in the league for non-penalty xGi since Conte has taken over so I’d back him to beat his target even if he needs multiple involvements to do so.
